Change
I shot the above scenery from my window at different seasons of the year. The one on the left was during the winter and the other in summer. It is great to imagine that the same landscape could look so different. Nature changes. At times, you could have checked the weather forecast before leaving home. It may have indicated that the day would be sunny hence you dressed lightly. To be sure that you are doing the right thing, you looked out through the window to access how other people dressed. You concluded that the weather would certainly be warm. Three hours later you became cold due to the sudden changes in the weather and you also realised that almost everyone else had their warmer on with the exception of yourself. It is not only the weather that changes. Man changes too. Actually, there are very many things that change. But let us talk about man.
A man is capable of doing things that contradict each other. Otherwise how can we explain these contradictions: A cleaner in a director's office paying more income tax than his boss. A Nigerian senator's salary being higher than that of the president of United States of America. While most Nigerians live on less than one dollar a day. A pastor dating a woman and her daughter. Or why a father turns another person's child to be a suicide bomber while he protects his own children at home. A pastor that sexually abuses the children that assist at the parish and still faces the congregation daily as their shepherd. Men slaughtering fellow human beings like lambs. And feeling happy to share the video on the social media, as shown in the IS video. Or a woman killing a baby in her womb in the name of her right to choose. She forgets that had her mother claimed such right, she herself would not have been born. Imagine a man killing his wife for whatever reason or a daughter slaughtering her grand mother.
Does it stop there. No. Otherwise how do you explain the contradiction in two persons that confessed to loving each other only for them, within six months, to hate each other so passionately that they seek divorce.
At times I wonder the percentage of persons that were among the crowd that shouted hosanna! hosanna! hosanna! to the Son of David! and later turned to shout crucify Him! crucify Him! crucify Him! some hours later. No wonder those of us that claim to have relationship with God, pray to Him to forgive us our sins but we give reasons for not forgiving others their sins against us. The irony is that the persons that made this earth become hell to very many people still look forward to going to heaven when they die.
We all love gifts but hardly do we give gifts to others. Yea. It is said, 'Change is constant'. Man also is constant in changing. I love Don Williams' song 'I believe in love'.
