The story behind the YELLOW EVANGELISTS
I am Charles Chilaka, I grew up in  Somolu, Lagos State, Nigeria. Now I live in Jos, Nigeria. The story behind my Novel, YELLOW EVANGELISTS is related to my experience living in Lagos and Jos States of  Nigeria and working with the largest Television Network in Africa. In the performance of my duty I over the years related with different personalities. Their behaviour varied broadly. Many of them wait for opportunities to become wealthy at all cost, some are only concerned about themselves and others steal not minding who is present.   In almost all the cities in Nigeria, there hardly any street that one will not find Mosque or/and one or more Churches. Yet the behaviour of a good number of the persons that patronize these prayer houses are not changed by their religion. Mr. Nsofor's refusal to be like these hypocrites in Yellow Evangelists places him in conflict with his wife Lynda, his boss and his daughter's suitor.  Lynda joins Pastor Tunde's Church against her husbands advice. She becomes wealthy and believes her husband and daughter are foolish. Mr. Nsofor disappears  Uju his daughter is bent in unravelling the mystery. Interpol steps up investigation of Pastor Tunde and his collaborators  for running a human trafficking syndicate. Lynda is very worried.

WHAT WILL YOU DO IF YOU ARE ERECTED A BISHOP?

If you are one of the many protesting Priests that rejected the Bishop erected for your Diocese and the Holy See changed his mind, appoints you the bishop of your Diocese.  What will you do with the office?

THERE WAS A COUNTRY

The late Professor Chinua Achebe in his book THERE WAS A COUNTRY discussed corruption in Nigeria; the promotion of mediocrity by Nigerian government under the guise of 'Federal character'; he  established pogrom of  Igbos before and during the Nigerian/Biafran war (1966 to 1970); the selfish involvement of the Governments of Britian and Russia in aiding and  abating crime of genocide with the blockade of Biafra while executing the policy of  'Starving them to death' which resulted to the death of thousands of children and the elderly. The book exposed the Nigerian Army  execution of non combatant boys, women and men. The organized  rape of Briafran women by the Nigerian soldiers. Rather than address the key issues Professor Chinua Achebe raised in this book, most Nigerians say he should not have written the book.  Why?

Mugabe, Blatter and Mandela

Maybe a study of these three public figures: Zimbabwian Robert Mugabe, Sweden Sepp Blatter and South African Nelson Mandela should be conducted for the education of humanity.

EVIL OF SELFISHNESS

Fr. J. Okoro, OSA,  stressed in his homily today the danger of pride on a person. He quoted St. Augustine's warning on the evil of the vice 'pride' that could comfortably be accommodated in a holy person. He emphasised that selfishness promotes pride and that the two vices contributed immensely to the cause or wars, disagreements, divorces and fights. How else can we explain Mr. Robert Mugabe's insistence on continued ruling or miss-ruling Zimbabwe as their President after sitting-tight on the seat for 37 years? Did his people really voted for him?
